Ancient
Rick Duke and Kenny Anderson met for the first time at Twin Peaks Middle School in Poway California, because Rick spoke fluent Spanish and had a full mustache, Kenny originally thought Rick was a Spanish Teacher at the school. Over the years they became friends and were even football teammates but their mutual passion for music became their bond. After High School they played in a Southern Rock cover band called 100 Proof with several friends and talented musicians Mike Silva, Randy Frye, Mario Cozzi, Fred Pellicio and Rick’s brother Trevor made up the original group. Trevor was eventually replaced by Scott Nutter on Bass. As is the fate of most bands, it was a short lived endeavor which found everyone going their separate ways and in little contact. Rick became a paint contractor but continued to study Guitar and hone his craft. Kenny traveled around the country performing for 15 years eventually forming the Kenny Anderson Band and releasing the CD ‘Shapes and Sounds’ in 1988.

Rick continued as a Paint Contractor in San Diego and Kenny eventually quit the road life and settled in Big Bear Lake, CA with his wife and children. The two were reunited at the funeral of their childhood friend Mike Hill. It was there that Kenny plead his case for the two to begin playing music together again. So with electric guitars put away and replaced by acoustics, the two old friends began playing tunes from their past, as well as new tunes written along the way. Appropriately titled ‘About Time’, the Album is not only a tribute to where they have been but also a glimpse of where they are heading. The album features an old friend from the 100 Proof days Scott Nutter on Bass, plus two incredible musicians John Lee White III (drums and percussion) and Mark Lessman (Sax and Flute), both who played on Kenny’s ‘Shapes and Sounds’ CD.
